For activists and environmentalists the world over Earth Hour was a great success.
Green fanatics the world over claim that they now have a mandate to tackle climate change.
The World Wildlife Fund said Sunday: "The world said yes to climate action, and now governments must follow,"
Nations around the globe heard the call and responded. From an Antartic research base to the Colosseum in Rome and the Great Pyramids of Egypt to the Empire State Building and the Lights of Vegas. Time zone by Time Zone nearly 4,000 cities and towns in 88 countries dimmed their light from 8:30-9:30 pm.
WWF calls the event the first-ever global vote for the future of our planet.
The UN's top climate officials say the event is a clear sign that the world wants negotiators seeking a climate change agreement to set an amitious course to fight global warming.
While many are celebrating the Earth, Fox news took a different approach. Instead of touting the need for climate change reforms, they focused solely on critics of the movement.
Apparently FOX news rejects completely the notion that global warming is even an issue, as did the many critics that they interviewed during the event on Saturday.
I think it's horrible when a news agency can neglect scientific data with regards to something as crucial as global warming, and spread lies and falsehoods.
