Of God and Universal Healthcare… Why God Approves!

[caption id="" align="alignright" width="202" caption="Image via Wikipedia"][/caption]

I’ve had many people stating that they don’t know where God says Universal healthcare is a freedom, or where it’s mentioned in the constitution, or how it related.

Here’s my view: First off I’m lds / mormon a christian denomination founded by Joseph Smith in 1830.

For all those politicians, business men, republicans, etc who are against Universal Healthcare - I suggest that you are also against the Bible.

Here’s the scriptural support for Universal Healthcare:
Matthew Chapter 25, Verses 34-46
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his aright hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or a thirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

I submit that - to deny someone medical care is to cast them aside and is un-christian.

Christianity has no room for hypocrites and if you do not support Healthcare for all people, then you have no business saying you are a Christian.

There are people suffering with Cancer, Leukemia, Heart Disease, and all manner of common, and rare diseases. Many cannot afford the health care they need, many show up in the ER which costs 10 times more than a normal doctor, and helps raise the overall cost of healthcare across the board.

Write your congressmen, and senators and let them know that they cannot go on being hypocrites and call themselves Christians and expect to be believed if they go on not supporting Universal Healthcare. After all your congressmen and senators have the best health care our Government can afford, of course they may not care about universal health care.

We may have won a huge victory with Obama getting elected as he favors a more universal plan - but the fight isn’t over yet. Keep fighting, and spread the word!

It’s Rodney King all over again. This time it’s Rodney King of the Gay Community..

This item was filled under [ Faith, Politics & Community News ]

This is a disturbing video…

Apparently there was a Rodney King like beating during the protests by the Gay Community on Calfornia Proposition 8.

As a Mormon, and a minority mormon at that - one who actually is against the proposition I must say that this is indeed disturbing.

do I believe that gayness is right or ethical? No..I don’t.

However - I don’t believe it’s our responsibility to say what people do or believe behind closed doors. I believe marriage is sacred, for me, my family, and those of my faith. Sure excommunicate a member who defies that - but if someone does believe in that practice, then apparently their ‘faith system’ allows it. That could be likened to their religion. It’s what they believe right?

God gave us our free agency to choose, we should have the opportunity to marry anything we want as long as they consent, even if that thing is a plant, or a salad(as Pee Wee Herman did once). Ok, maybe Pee Wee is a bad example.

But it is my strong belief that nothing - is more important than keeping the constitution fair, and unbiased for everyone. Whether you’re black, gay, white, asian, hispanic, straight, mormon, catholic, lutheran, or muslim. You should have equal rights across the board. If one person can marry, then so should another.

Let god decide if the act is wrong, and when he makes that decision then he will also punish it. It doesn’t hurt me if Steve and Tom down the street like each other a little more than they should.

We should not dictate what people can or can’t do. If the term ‘marriage’ is all that’s at the root here, then why not call it something else? Eternal Union, Faith Union, Gay Union, Civil Union, Eternal Partnership, Love Binding, etc…think up something nice and go with it.

Just my two cents - also I’d like to say, don’t blame this on the Mormons, because not all of us believe that everything should be governed. I believe in less government intrusion in the private matters of our life. Yet I believe also in universal healthcare, and the right of all Americans to be able to receive the best care in the world.

A Highly Liberal yet Somewhat Conservative Mormon’s viewpoint on the “Law of Attraction”

This item was filled under [ Faith, LDS / Mormon, Law of Attraction, Religion, The Secret ]

So here I was… reading article after article after article on how to apply this new found knowledge from ‘the secret’ into my own life, and then I found some articles on the opposing view, which there’s opposition in everything, and I got to thinking how a little skepticism can be healthy - again only a little, a lot would be overdosing on that as well. There’s a saying in my church - Moderation in All Things.

Now I don’t discount the power of ‘the secret’ or the ‘law of attraction’, but I started thinking maybe I was being a little foolish going full headed into this, when I don’t really know what it all entails. So I took some time to meditate and ponder over ‘The Secret’ and the ‘Law of Attraction’ after some thought I believe it can be altered a little better to fit into my own belief pattern.

I’m an avid believer in my church, I’m LDS/ aka Mormon - and I know I might be considered odd by many, but some of the teachings of the Law of Attraction seem to contradict my religious heart, and seem odd to me.

As I said earlier my church has a popular saying ‘Moderation in all things’. I think it’s very well possible to over-do things a bit with living the law of attraction, but I’m saying this is only my idea of the way I personally need to live it.

I’m a very liberal person, I have never supported the Iraq war, and I have never supported our False President, however as a Mormon I can be quite conservative on some issues for instance Abortion. I’ve read a number of books on becoming a millionaire, one of my favorites is the Automatic Millionaire by David Bach. I’ve also read article after article on wealth creation. Then of course there’s this old adage by Benjamin Franklin that says “a penny saved is a penny earned”. Now I say this after I wasted money, that could be applied to my future, at Mc Donald’s, but I’ll admit I’m a work in progress.

The Meat of this post: A Somewhat Conservative Liberal Mormon’s viewpoint slash version of the Law of Attraction.

First off I want to say go and read about the law of attraction, watch ‘The Secret’ then come back and re-read what I have to say.

Now having been a dreamer and believer most my life and tried just about everything a man can try - From MLM Riches to HYIP Dreams to Autosurfs Folly, you name it I’ve been there, and on some I made some money for a little while but then lost everything.

I still hold dear to my heart the fact that I believe I can be everything I’ve dreamed about, I also believe altering my attitude and emotions can help me get there, and believing that I deserve the desires of my heart and that they are a worthy goal and desire.

I believe God gives us what we think we deserve rather than what we really deserve, and being an omniscient God he knows all of our deepest thoughts and knows our feelings of Guilt and Doubt. Do not doubt that you deserve something, or if you do doubt then work on overcoming that guilt and doubt, there is a way, wherever there is a will.
Patrick’s Personalized Law of Attraction:

Ask God for those things that you desire, ask with a sincere heart and be comforted knowing he will give you everything your heart desires, that he intends for you to have, if you have the faith, and if you don’t have the faith he may test your faith or wait till you do gain the faith required, the faith to move your mountains.
Pay Tithe’s to God, or if you don’t share the same beliefs as me it can be any charity, give 10% of what you earn back into society.
To gain time(aka freedom) and money you must give time and money, spend time each week giving of your time to others, by helping others you will not only giving of your time, but you will be showing God or the Universe(Whichever you believe) that you are worthy of your desires.
Pay yourself first, According to David Bach this is the single biggest way to gain wealth and retire early. To be above or at the rest of society he suggests saving 10%. To be greatly above the rest of society and acquire wealth faster he says you need to be saving 20-25% and this should be going into safe but profitable mutual funds and other long term investments.
Pay another 5% monthly into an emergency fund. You should have at least 1 year’s worth of funds in a savings account, before you increase the amount you pay yourself, a good rule of thumb is to pay 5% to yourself and 10% to your savings until you have your savings at one year, then you can increase your payments to yourself, you never know when a Hurricane Katrina might show up at your door, so it is essential to have this safety net.
Do whatever it takes to become a home owner. It’s a fact owning a home is a big step in becoming an Automatic Millionaire, your first home doesn’t need to be fancy, it doesn’t need to be huge, it could be an ex-chicken coup(trust me I’ve lived in one - remodeled of course) - just get ownership of a home, work as hard as you can to pay it off early then when you sell it you’ll have a huge down payment on a bigger home, then work hard to pay that off and you’ll have a nice down payment on another big home, or perhaps a nice size home and some investment properties, see where this going?
This is another of my own personal steps - it involves two different thoughts, first better yourself where possible so that you can get a better career, go back to school if needed, start a business if you can, etc. Secondly if possible do something on the side that will help you make more money, an extra $200-300 per month can relieve a lot of burdens, and lower your stress levels, I mean would you turn down an extra $3,600, a year? Someways to do this is yardsales, ebay, adsense, blogging if you can get a following, or do like my wife and sell baby bedding sets that cost her $15 to make for $70-$100 on local classified sites.
Fake it till you make it, believe in yourself and your dreams. Here’s where you’ll live the law of attraction - don’t doubt that you’ll receive what you want, keep at it until you do succeed, and most importantly never give up.

Do you believe?

This item was filled under [ Faith, Law of Attraction, Religion ]

As is the crux of most faiths, at the core of the law of attraction is belief. You must believe in the universe, or God. I’m a Christian(LDS Faith) and I combine my belief in the validity of the Law of Attraction and my strong beliefs in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

I believe Heavenly Father wants us to be happy, and when we keep our heads down, always watching our feet, we end up missing a huge world around us.

A good movie once said Get busy living or Get busy dieing. I choose to live this life and the next life to it’s fullest.

Do you believe in the Law of Attraction? Do you believe a tech support office Geek can make $1,000,000 in 2 years? I have immense faith, and I ask you this question - what if you could be part of my success? What if you could be partners in this success? I’m looking for like-minded people who want to share in manifesting wealth for each other.

Ways you can help:

1. Link to this blog, or talk about it in your favorite forums.
2.  Bookmark and visit Frequently.
3.  Bring a few friends on over to view the site.
4.  Trackback to our articles,  subscribe to the feeds, and leave your comments.
5. Pray, Think, and Visualize our success along with us. I truly believe when people combine their thoughts together you can better the manifestation process.

And if you’re not yet convinced of how exciting this is, Imagine that I’m you, you’ve been living on minimum wage for 10 years, since you started working @ McDonald’s back in 1996. Imagine that’s your life.

Now imagine a life-line is thrown at you, a solid rope to climb up above your situation. Imagine not being afraid of success anymore, imagine every good thought you have becoming a reality. Just imagine living the life that up until now has only been available to a select few… This is a worthy goal I believe, and imagine witnessing, and even helping me reach my goal, just the feeling of accomplishment knowing you can be apart of this!

Yeehaw, this is exciting!
