Apple the epitome of Chinese Companies, YAY COMMUNISM & Tyranny!

The big news today is that Apple has changed the language in it’s 4.0 sdk. Now I’m not a total tech geek so I’m going to break this down into language we can all understand. What this means is Apple wants to control what languages can be used to develop iphone apps. It further means that adobe flash, and other ide’s may forever be barred from competing on the iphone or ipad ecosystems.

An outspoken adobe tech – Lee Brimelow, had this to say:

This has nothing to do whatsoever with bringing the Flash player to Apple’s devices. That is a separate discussion entirely. What they are saying is that they won’t allow applications onto their marketplace solely because of what language was originally used to create them. This is a frightening move that has no rational defense other than wanting tyrannical control over developers and more importantly, wanting to use developers as pawns in their crusade against Adobe. This does not just affect Adobe but also other technologies like Unity3D.

I am positive that there are a large number of Apple employees that strongly disagree with this latest move. Any real developer would not in good conscience be able to support this. The trouble is that we will never hear their discontent because Apple employees are forbidden from blogging, posting to social networks, or other things that we at companies with an open culture take for granted.

Now, as a social media consultant, and thus lover of social media, I’m also inheritantly a fan of all things open, I believe in open source and at least having freedoms in the workplace. Furthermore I think it’s even unconstitutional to take away employees rights to communicate, especially in America.  There are Chinese companies that are more open than Apple, how can a company that’s not forward thinking and embracing of new technologies possibly survive?

It boggles me that people even are stupid enough to own an iphone, or an ipad. No offense if this is you – but how can you possibly handle not being able to multi-task? I’d go crazy I have to be able to jump from one program to the next. This is why I will never own an iphone, or apple product. Apple just doesn’t make sense, sure the icon is cute if you like apples, but is that worth supporting a company that most closely resembles the republic of China?

Obviously you did not see the part where OS4 is going to have multi-tasking or perhaps the fact that Adobe develop proprietary technology and not open source.

Maybe you missed the part that the new OS4 will support HTML5 which is truly open so it does not need plugins such as flash players…

Apple is a multi-billion dollar revenue company with a 30+ billion warchest – they have been around for 30+ years, they have pioneered everything that you dreamed of and that we use today.

Apple's contribution to technology is beyond what most people see: the mouse (until then only keyboard interface), the Newton (first real PDA/handheld computer), the ipod, Windows copycat Apple OS, the iphone change the way we communicate. the ipad will change the way people interact and learn…

Yes it $uc% that apple that control all their production, use DRM, and that they pave the way for paid content on the web. But then again, they created a marketplace for millions of people to play in and a new developer community to build for it..

I would proposed that the people b!tch!ng the most out there are simply those folks that could not hack their way into the apple programs and now p!ssed they missed the boat..

    It's just my opinion..

I have a love hate relationship with apple… But most of the time it's love.. I own many of their products, i have shares in APPL but on some days like today I wish the iphone or ipad supported Flash if only for the sake of accessing my Evony game…

1 question, do you work for Apple ? lol I’m not a full developer, I dabble, but I believe in open culture, how do you explain apple employees not even being able to voice their opinions when other companies encourage it? IF company’s were country, Apple would be China, and Google and companies like google would be the free world. Open breeds innovation, closed breeds control, and hammers down on innovation. Before long no developers will be left who want to program iphone and ipad apps, I know if it were me, I’d go straight to Android, and possibly blackberry. I would not touch an iphone if Steve Jobs gave me one free.

The site above reckons you can grab a free Apple iPad on-line… Has any one experimented with any of those free iPad offers?
