Tonight John Mccain & David Cook were both on Saturday Night Live. (David Cook is a Singer from American Idol – in case ya didn’t know – I didn’t lol)…
Lookin’ for a topic to blog about, I head on over to Google Trends, and what did I find? “David Cook” #1, “Mccain SNL” #2. Which says to me that people care more about American Idol, than they do about who will be the next President. Of course there were two google trends listings for Mccain, the other being “Mccain Saturday Night Live” at #12. Can you add the two together and make Mccain come out ahead?
I dunno, that sounds fishy – like the way Mccain’s internal Pollsters called Mccain ‘functionally even’ with Obama. It just doesn’t fly…
UPDATE: I apologize regarding the American Idol comment(lots of impassioned comments) – my point to be made was that more people seem passionate about this David Cook, than there are for Mccain. Of course, I can see why after watchin’ on youtube.

Maybe it was the man and his singing…maybe American Idol had nothing to do with his performance. I googled him because he impressed me. American Idol had nothing to do with it. Oh and maybe McCain is a douche bag I don’t even want to google.
Yeah, looks to me like they googled David Cook, not American Idol… So maybe people care more about rock music than who will be president?
Wrong conclusion. That dude rocked! Google for his music – not this idol thing.

Not one of the people who don’t know who to vote for two days before election either – so why google McCain?
It’s because David Cook and his band rocked the friggin house at SNL!! And I hate to tell you this but that has NOTHING to do with American Idol because this dude has been rocking people for over 10 years…AI just helped him get discovered!! He deserves all the fame he has worked so hard to achieve!!! I love me some David Cook!
@digginoncookie: My point was that he outranked john Mccain – not so much the American Idol fact. I haven’t even heard of him – but I did get a chance to listen to some of him on youtube, and he definitely rocked the stage.
No need to apologize. I think more than anything it’s a statement about SNL…people tend to watch more for the musical guests than for the comedy these days. Tina Fey and Andy Samberg notwithstanding. And David Cook did indeed rock the house.
